03 Jan No more laces for your dance shoes?
Comfort, stability and looks are major when it comes to choose your dance sneakers. We often forget how annoying it is to have your laces come loose during class.
In the year 2000 I participated in the world championship streetdance with my crew. We had practiced for months and figured we had a pretty good shot at the title. We ended up winning but it wasn’t without some moments of stress. In the semi finals, my right sneaker came loose. The shoes didn’t offer proper support anymore and I tripped. I ended up on my butt, on stage, at the world championships, right at the beginning of a formation change. Not ideal. While waiting for the results I thought I blew it. I wish I had the adidas Ultraboost laceless on my feet. Nothing of this would have ever happened.
Having a sock-like, laceless shoe seems like heaven to me. It check all the important boxes of what a dance shoe should be but ads a little bonus to the list. And did I mention they are really good looking? There is such a zen feeling to it. It simplifies the shoe.
